2025 was a great year for the Bell Cup, after last year’s competition where the poor weather caused issues with completing the matches within the time frames. In contrast this Spring and Summer for years, meant everything ran to plan. 

The Finals Day was also blessed with dry weather and a lovely course, in great condition at Ringway GC. Our thanks to the green staff and management, and also the bar & catering staff at Ringway who provided everyone with a great breakfast and lovely lunch. 

Thank you to all the players competing in Finals Day. Heyrose played Shaw Hill and Chapel en le Frith played Westhoughton. After 14 hard fought matches in the Semifinals, Shaw Hill and Westhoughton emerged as victors. 

 The Finals teed off at 2pm with both teams battling hard. The match that clinched the victory for Westhoughton was the 4th Match out – Westhoughton’s Sue Maybury against Shaw Hill’s – Bernie Stones. This match went to the 20th hole and a new winning team emerged, Westhoughton. Congratulations to all the players from Westhoughton Golf Club.
