Worsley pair top the leaderboard as the weather turns

The weather sadly turned against us in the afternoon, but our intrepid ladies kept their heads down, battled round and recorded some excellent scores in the 4BBB. The quality of scoring across the field was a real credit to everyone who played on through the conditions, and just two points separated the top three pairs. The full results were:

• 1st: Pat Jackson & Carol Batchelor (Worsley), 41 pts
• 2nd: Liz Jackson & Helen Finbow (Greenmount), 40 pts
• 3rd: Janet Smith & Lynda Stewart (Ringway), 39 pts, on a card play-off from Rebecca Byle & Heather Denton (Romiley)

There were three twos on the day, with each player receiving four MDGLA logo’d balls for their efforts. Off the course, our raffle in support of Junior Girls Golf raised a fantastic £184. A big thank you to everyone who bought tickets, and to our Honorary Presidents, Ann and Jackie, for arranging and selling them. Congratulations to all our winners, and thank you to every player for braving the elements. We look forward to seeing you at the next event.
