This year’s competition was played at Ringway Golf Club on Thursday 2nd July. Of the 63 entries, 61 took to the course, with two players unfortunately unable to make it on the day. The weather was kind to us, the day ran smoothly from start to finish, and Ringway were excellent hosts. Particular thanks go to their Lady Captain, Bernie Battman, who kindly acted as starter.
The Lloyd Jones Trophy (scratch competition) was won by Angie McCrum of Dunham Forest with a gross 82.
The Challenge Cup went to Val Willis of Rossendale, who returned a nett 68 from a playing handicap of 18. This is Val’s third win in the competition, a tremendous achievement. Jacqui Bickerton of Prestbury was runner-up with a nett 69 from a playing handicap of 22, and Marjorie Griffiths of Ringway took third place, also with a nett 69, from a playing handicap of 17.
Congratulations to our winners, and well done to everyone who took part.
